Hello

My name is Ann Burns and I’m a counsellor specialising in holistic psychotherapy in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

My counselling practice focuses upon working closely with clients who wish to manage and/or change something in their lives.

Background

Working across twenty plus years as a small business accountant, primarily with charities, I have always been enjoyed the concept of teamwork and working closely with people. Having raised our family while working and studying further heightened my awareness of the complexities encountered by current working people in their quest to achieve a balance between commitments and personal wellbeing and satisfaction.

My interest in the psychology of human behaviour and quest for personal development led me to study at The Metavision Institute, Bowral, which in turn further ignited my passion and interest and ultimately led to a new career path in counselling.

I am a current Intern Member of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) and now use all of my experience and training for the benefit of my clients, whatever their needs.

How I can help you

You are unique, and so is your journey. My holistic approach to counselling means that I focus not only on your pressing issues, but the symptoms and causes of your challenges and my overall focus is on you as an individual, whatever your needs.

So…I focus on you uniqueness, your mind, body and spirit…who you are as a person…and encourage you to live your life well, completely and without fear…and accepting yourself completely…there are no one-size-fits-all answers.

Who I work with

A common misconception is that counselling is only for people dealing with depression.
To the contrary, counselling is more about reflection, acceptance and learning how to manage any given situation…
…Its about discovering the right path for the individual person at any time in their life: through mid-life direction changes, big life decisions, right down to the small things that perhaps you tell yourself aren’t important — they are all important and valid reasons to seek counselling.

Depression, stress, anxiety, grief, bullying and self-harm are just some of the issues I may be able to assist you with.
